No one in the past has ever complained but,we would rather have fewer inquires or renters than have any of our guest be disappointed in our place. What we do have is lots of private woods. In the summer you can some time see a glimmer of the lake, when the trees are bare in the winter a little more but that’s about it. We don’t have what I could call a lake view from our house. We all find it a pleasant walk and the view of our cove sitting on the dock and its landing is lovely and very private. Our property is NOT lake front. To get to our dock you walk down the middle of our property and cross the road, go down our deeded and wooded 15 foot right of way between two lake side houses. I chose this name for the cute factor, not to deceive anyone. Our house is ‘The Barn on Lake Shore’ because the address is on Lake Shore Drive, and we chose to build with the look of a barn (this was in homage to a local landmark, a sway back stone barn around the corner on Mayhew Inn road), it is NOT on the shore of Deep Creek Lake. We received an inquiry asking a question about ‘lake access.’ It has occurred to me there may be some confusion about the lake proximity to our house, and the name we use for our place may have added to this. There is additional queen sized Murphy bed in the great room. Share quiet nights sitting around your campfire roasting marshmallows, we provide the firewood!Įach bedroom has a queen sized bed and a twin bed. Located close to all Deep Creek Lake activities but tucked away in 3 acres of woods so you can get away from it all. Watch for deer as you enjoy breakfast from your screened in porch. If you would like to have the dock out for visits in April or October call and we will see if we can accommodate you. The dock must be ‘pulled’ through the cold months. We have the dock in the lake from May first until October first. Large dock in quiet cove is great for sunbathing or swimming. ![]() ![]() canoe, bring your own boat, or rent one for the day/week from a local marina and keep it at your own private dock. Tons of things to do outdoors, but the home also lets you stay indoors and curl up by the fire or watch a movie in the home theater. The Barn on Lake Shore is a privately owned Deep Creek Lake vacation rental home, with lake access and a private dock available for your use. Use our 15ft. While there is tons to see and do around Deep Creek, if you just want to relax, you never have to leave Blakeslee! What makes this House uniqueĬentrally located between the northern "hub" of McHenry and Wisp, and the cool, little town of Oakland to the South, the quiet community of Blakeslee lets you enjoy the lake and Maryland mountains without being too far from anything. We can walk or bike to our boat dock in 5 minutes. We can take walks, play tennis, go swimming, or simply enjoy an outdoor fire or hot tub soak without leaving the community. ![]() Children can ride bikes throughout Blakeslee in a safe environment. The community was everything we had hoped for, and perfect for many different types of vacationers. We first visited the Blakeslee community with a realtor in the summer of 2014, and rented a home in Blakeslee in 2015. Why Sean and Cindy Dobich chose Blakeslee It was at that time that we decided Deep Creek is so much more than just a summer getaway it really is a four season vacation area, and it was then we decided to start looking for a home to purchase. We've been vacationing in Deep Creek since 1994, but just started enjoying winter vacations there seven years ago. Our family (four children ranging from 17 to 27 years old) lives 90 minutes away from Deep Creek near Washington, PA.
